Ever wondered how you can save money?

Whether you’re a tech guru, or this is the first email you are opening, there are always some quick tips which can save you money. Read below to see what some of these tips are and the reasoning behind them!

REBOOT. Oftentimes, the first question we ask when it comes to a computer issue is, “When was the last time you rebooted?”

Many times “something” is not right – it may be a corrupted file or a program which is not closing properly which is causing the third program to misbehave. Therefore, before you get frustrated, stop what you are doing and reboot your computer.

BACKUP. For many people, your data is stored on your hard drive. The odds of a hard drive failing is quite high (eventually it will die, the question is when!) so taking the proper precautionary measures, by investing in a proper backup solution now, will very likely save you money and stress in the long run.

NEW PURCHASES. Getting the latest technology may be “the cool thing,” yet holding back your temptations and waiting a few months for the new purchase may save you 25% or more!

KEEPING IT SAFE AND CLEAN. How is your computer plugged in to the wall? Keeping your computers off of a carpeted floor and using a surge protector can save your computer from having hardware issues down the road.

PC PERFORMANCE
How to get your PC to go faster

Whether you have a new or an old PC, everyone wants to know:
“How can I make my computer go even faster?”
Read below to see some options which you may want to explore.

SSD HARD DRIVEGenerally speaking, your computer is capable of running quickly, but it can be held back for numerous reasons. One of the reasons can be due to the speed of your hard drive. SSD drives have faster boot time and users feel a quicker response time with their computers. The downside is they cost more and generally come with less space on them.

NETWORK SPEED. Once your computer is going the fastest it can go, make sure your Internet speed is adequate for your needs. You can run a speed test to get an idea of what speeds your Internet is going and call your carrier to discuss the different options with them.

VIRUS/ SPYWARE/ MALWARE. Running extra programs which are not needed may cause your computer to slow down. Viruses, spyware and malware fall under this category. Therefore, making sure your computer is free of any virus, spyware and malware can improve the overall performance of your computer.

OLD PROGRAMS. Once we mentioned the idea of removing viruses, spyware and malware … it’s a good idea to remove all unwanted programs from the start up menu and from the computer entirely for a faster experience.
