Cell Battery Life

HOW’S YOUR BATTERY LIFE?
Ever wondered if there is a way to extend your smartphones battery life?
Last Tuesday I tried an experiment and the results were astonishing. Last Tuesday, Tisha Bav, I left my Android on my desk the entire day, and the battery survived the day without the need to charge it at least once. This got me thinking that perhaps there is a way to extend our smartphones battery life on a regular basis. Read below to see what we came across on how to extend your cell phone’s battery life (and be sure to read “when all else fails” at the bottom of the article!!)
Screen brightness is one of the big battery killers. Although the default setting may be nice and bright, that brightness is costing you your battery life. Perhaps lower the screen brightness, you may be surprised that it is still bright enough!
How long does the screen stay on after you are finished using it? Why not minimize the time until it goes into sleep mode, so that your battery life can last longer!
Which programs and accounts are syncing and sending you notifications? I have many accounts loaded on my Android, but only for the bare essentials ones do I have the sync and notifications turned on (I manually do a sync when I need to check the other accounts.)
Is your Bluetooth and Wi-Fi turned on at the moment? I am very careful to only have the Bluetooth on when I’m in my car, otherwise I have a widget on my home screen to shut it off. When it comes to Wi-Fi I am not so religious to shut it off, since at home and in the office my cell connects to the Wi-Fi. However, for those that want to conserve battery life, make sure your Wi-Fi is turned off when you are not using it.
When installing or updating apps, do you allow apps to obtain your location? While this is important to be turned on when you are using the GPS or similar app, most apps are using the location services to know where you are, so they can send the appropriate advertisements. Now is that worth your precious battery life? Next time you are installing an app, perhaps you should think twice before selecting “enable location services.”
Do you have apps which you never open? Some of those apps may be running background processes, which are consuming the battery, therefore if they are not essential, perhaps, dispose of them!
When all else fails… We provide technicians with extra wall chargers, car chargers and portable batteries such as THIS or THAT.
